Unified Notification Framework

Context & approach

The platform provided notification capabilities through different entry points, including manual creation and system-triggered events, but the flows were not fully unified.

The product goal was to standardise notification creation and management across the platform, enabling both manual UI flows and automatic API flows while ensuring clear content definition, receiver scope, lifecycle management and receiver-side control.

The solution covers content definition, receiver targeting, publishing controls, notification list management, automatic API creation, receiver preferences and interaction capabilities inside the notification center.

Outcomes

• Unified previously fragmented notification flows into one framework.
• Enabled both API-triggered and manually created notifications.
• Improved administrator control over targeting, lifecycle and publishing.
• Introduced receiver-side settings and interaction capabilities.
• Prepared the framework for measurable notification performance tracking.
